Lockout for Critical Messages
Depending on settings in the License and Course/Competency screens, the employee may be unable clock in and work if they have a critical message relating to license or education requirements. A check is performed on the employee device message table to see if the current employee has a critical message in that table. A critical message causes a lockout, and the employee will be locked out from performing the actions noted below for only their own record. (If the employee locked out is a supervisor, he or she will be allowed to perform the below actions for others.)
Note:
The settings that determine if employees are locked out from clocking in when they have a critical message is set up on the Device Message Participation field in the License configuration screen or the Course/Competency configuration screen.
If it has been determined that an employee has been locked out, a lockout message will be displayed on the following screens.
-
Quick Badge Screen: Only the above message will be displayed and no fields or the Save button will be available.
-
TCS Screen: The Transaction List, Transaction Grid, Monthly View, and Clocking Edit screens will display the above message. The employee will not be allowed to add, edit, or delete clocking transactions. The Add Clocking button in the employee actions will be disabled.
-
Transaction Requests: The employee will be unable to create a new clocking request. They will not be able edit or delete existing clocking requests, or add, edit, or delete individual clocking transactions within the request. The lockout message will be displayed where appropriate. The search page will not allow the employee to delete a clocking request. If a user attempts to perform this action, a pop-up will be displayed with the same message as above.
